Starting July 1,2022, Google discontinues its free services for custom domain emails. The price is now 7.8cad/month/user. If you don't want to pay the fees, there is a good option available for iCloud subscribers, which starts only 1.99cad/month/family. iCloud + just recently introduced the custom domain emails. As long as you have an active subscription of iCloud service and a valid iCloud mail, the process is easy.  After signing in on iCloud.com, clicking iCloud settings, Under Custom Domain Email, click Manage, it takes you the page for you to set up the custom domain email. The whole process is automatic, you no longer need to manually input TXT, MX and CNAME info. And the accounts will be up running right away.  Enjoy!

 Marriott has a couple of good promotions which you can register from its App. US Amex BonVoy also has a 50 dollars statement credit if you spend 250 dollars at Marriott properties and Chase Marriott Visa has 5X points on groceries, eating and Amazon.com purchases. Enjoy!

 Amex(US) Hilton Surpass card offers a free night certificate if you spend 15000 US dollars per calendar year. It even has a progress bar for you. Once you've reached 15000 USD spending, you will get an email notifying you that the free night certificate is available for you to use. Previously, you need to keep the email because nowhere in Hilton app or Hilton account you can find this certificate. Now this information appears on the Hilton web site and not the app though. When logging into the Hilton Honors account, it shows how the certificate is earned and the validity and the last four digits of the certificate are. There is also a tab for "used rewards", which is very cool.  In order to redeem the certificate, a call is still required. The Hilton Free Night certificates are very valuable as almost any Hilton high end hotels are eligible for booking.  Apple products don't get discounted often. It only runs two big sales events a year, one is during Black Friday period, like there is one right now, you get apple gift card when you buy certain apple products from Nov.26 to Nov.29. The other one runs from April/May to August/September for Back to School shopping. But the shopping malls which have apple store are also running some mall gift cards promotion from time to time. The CF mall shopping card promotion is still running, basically you buy 500 dollars mall gift card to get 35 dollars extra, making it 7% more for your money.  The one just ended was Ivanhoe Cambridge malls promotion, which requires you to buy 250 dollars mall Amex prepaid card to get 25 dollars extra, making it 10% more for your purchase.   I am very excited to unbox the HSBC Jade Mastercard. Two days after application on the phone, the DHL package showed up at the door step. It's sent from Virginia by Idemia, one of the metal card manufacturers in North America.  The pin, the metal card and brochures are all packaged together inside the DHL yellow pouch.  The minimum credit limit for this card is 50000 dollars. It's a heavy metal card with the lion logo on it. I guess it will be my major credit card to put spending on.

After weighing the card, I am doing a cost benefit analysis of holding Amex gold card for 2 years today. Today, I received rose gold coloured Amex Gold rewards card. Last week, I applied for it through GCR web site to take advantage of 120 dollars bonus. One day after approval, the 120 dollars bonus showed up on my GCR account.  I also received an email from Amex one day after approval, advising me the card had been shipped. Unfortunately, they shipped by Canada Post regular mail so there was no tracking number. The whole process is very smooth and I really like the rose gold color!
